What inspired you to become a landscape architect/designer
Since the beginning of my design career, I have always believed that a green atmosphere plays a vital role in elevating the aesthetic and emotional value of any architectural space. Plants and landscape elements have the power to soften ordinary structures, create harmony, and bring life to buildings. For me, landscape design is not just about decoration — it's about creating a natural extension of architecture that connects people with their environment and enhances their everyday experience
How would you describe your design philosophy in one sentence?
Design should balance form, function, and nature to create timeless, livable spaces.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on and why?
I have worked on many residential villa projects, and honestly, I consider each one of them special in its own way. What I enjoy most is that every villa has its own unique character and design fingerprint that distinguishes it from the others. I love the process of studying the architecture, understanding the client’s lifestyle, and then creating a landscape design that feels like a natural extension of the home — functional, beautiful, and personal. That’s what makes every project exciting and memorable for me.
What elements or materials do you love incorporating into your designs?
In my design approach, I always lean towards luxury with simplicity — I believe minimal design with carefully selected natural materials creates the most timeless and elegant outdoor spaces. I love to use clean lines, high-quality stone, wood, and metal elements combined with soft, structured greenery. Every element I select serves both an aesthetic and functional purpose — whether it’s creating privacy, guiding movement, or enhancing outdoor living. My goal is to create spaces that feel calm, refined, and deeply connected to the architecture while remaining highly practical for everyday use.
What trends in landscape architecture/design excite you the most right now?
One of the trends that excites me the most right now is the strong movement towards sustainable and low-maintenance landscape design — using native plants, smart irrigation systems, and eco-friendly materials. I also love the trend of creating outdoor living spaces that feel like natural extensions of the interior — with minimal, clean lines, luxury materials, and functional zones for seating, dining, and relaxation. This combination of sustainability, simplicity, and lifestyle-driven design perfectly aligns with my philosophy of creating timeless, elegant, and livable outdoor environments.
Who has been a major influence or mentor in your career?
I wouldn't say there's one single mentor, but rather a blend of influences from various design styles that have shaped my career. Over time, I've been inspired by diverse architectural approaches and landscape philosophies, each contributing to my personal design process. I love pulling elements from different styles and synthesizing them to create unique, innovative designs that are both functional and visually striking. This fusion of influences allows me to bring fresh perspectives to every project I work on.
Anything else you’d like to share about your journey or the field of landscape architecture?
Landscape architecture is an exciting and ever-evolving field that allows me to blend creativity, functionality, and environmental consciousness. My journey has been shaped by a love for both nature and design, and I’ve always been drawn to the idea that outdoor spaces can transform the way people experience their surroundings. Over the years, I've learned that good design goes beyond aesthetics — it’s about creating spaces that are sustainable, enhance well-being, and seamlessly integrate with the environment. The field continues to inspire me as it grows and adapts to the challenges of sustainability, climate change, and the increasing desire for outdoor living spaces. I’m excited to be part of a profession that has such a positive impact on the way people live and interact with the world around them.
What inspired you to become a landscape architect/designer?
My inspiration to become a landscape architect comes from my deep appreciation for nature and the environment. I’ve always been fascinated by how design can blend with the natural world to create functional, sustainable, and beautiful spaces that enhance people’s lives.
How would you describe your design philosophy in one sentence?
My design philosophy as a landscape architect is to create sustainable, functional, and aesthetically inspiring spaces that foster a deep connection between people and the natural environment.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on and why?
My favorite project was the one pictured above, as it involved a large scale, including both the front and rear of the property, with a focus on topography. The architecture of the house played a fundamental role in shaping the design. I was able to geometrically integrate the social areas, pool, spa, play area, and fire pit within the existing space, achieving a great sense of harmony between all elements and the surrounding environment.
What elements or materials do you love incorporating into your designs?
I enjoy incorporating natural materials such as stone, wood, and plants into my designs to create a seamless connection between the built environment and nature. I focus on using sustainable materials that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space but also promote environmental responsibility. I also like to integrate elements like water features, open spaces, and diverse textures, which add depth and create a sense of harmony and tranquility in the design.
What trends in landscape architecture/design excite you the most right now?
At the moment, I’m particularly inspired by the trend of ‘resilient landscapes,’ which focuses on designing spaces that can adapt to climate change and extreme weather events. This includes the use of climate-appropriate plants, rain gardens, and flood mitigation techniques. The goal is to create landscapes that are not only beautiful and functional but also capable of withstanding environmental challenges while promoting biodiversity and ecological health.
Who has been a major influence or mentor in your career?
A big influence is James Corner. He is a prominent figure in landscape architecture, recognized for his work on projects like the High Line in New York City, which transformed an abandoned railway into a vibrant urban park. His innovative and sustainable design approach focuses on integrating natural and built environments.
Anything else you’d like to share about your journey or the field of landscape architecture?
Throughout my journey as a landscape architect, I've learned that design is not just about creating beautiful spaces, but about crafting environments that nurture both people and the planet. I believe in the power of thoughtful, sustainable design to transform communities and restore balance with nature. Every project is an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to a more harmonious and resilient world.
